The Pheonix from the ash's
Well after the unforgettable incident last week, its time to start looking towards the future. So Darren checked me engine the other day and she's okay. I taught she got hydro-locked but we're in the clear on that one. Paddy started stripping my bike for me. I was gettin hard to even look at her.
During race 1 on Sunday my bike over-heated and i was a bit panicy, but we found the thermostat was still in the bike which wouldnt help and the weather was hot so i think i should be okay on that front aswell. We emptied the water out of her into a clean bucket (cheers Darren) and there's no oily rainbows in the water so i'd say the head is fine.
The main damage from the crash is 2 fucked wheels, forks, mushrooms, clip-on, brake discs, levers so far. I'm hoping the swing arm is okay but i have a spare one so i'll throw that in just to be sure.
I'm not in a rush to get the bike ready so i gonna make a few adjustments to her. I'm building my own induction system. She has the HRC one fitted already but i've had a few ideas in my head for while about my own system so i'm gonna try it and see if it makes any difference. I know when she was dyno'd before she was putting out 62.7Bhp so we'll see.
Darren is gonna help me with the valve clearances, i've never done them on a V4 before. I took the rocker cover off today and it looks handy to do but its always handy to have someone thats done it before around just in case. I'm debatin changing the front brakes as well. I hear SP2 calipers fit straight on and if they can stop one of them heavy ass bikes they'll have no probs stopping the RVF, Espeically when i add some racing pads. I am doing some research into what other rear shocks will fit the RVF, I've heard the legend that a 600RR unit will fit but i'll have to check out the dimensions first. It would definetly do the job, the RR's are a serious handler.
So thats the plans for the minute. I'm missing the track already, Like a Vampire thats tasted first blood i'm longing to get the taste of the track again. And next time i'll be ready......
