Titanium Welding
Few notes on titanium welding for those who are interested;
Not exactly simple to weld, similiar to stainless but needs lots of preparation.
It has to be perfectly clean and free from contamination (Like carbon from exhaust).
Its tig welded wit argon as the shielding gas but has to be purge welded meaning it has to be surrounded by argon until it cools below about 800 degrees........thats the difficult part. If its not shielded properly, it'll absorb oxygen and nitrogen and if it does this then all surrounding metal will be fucked basically. Filler rods not that easy to get unless buyin loads of them but could probably get my hands on a few if needed.
Other solutions are to braze it but this messy and probably wont be good enuf 4 an exhaust. Theres special adhesive (similiar to chemical metal but 4 titaniuim)that can be got which mite be a better solution, will try and find out a bit more bout it and post shortly!
