ISAM meeting 3rd march
Hi lads,
I got all the official race dates for this year. These are now set in stone. Had a quick look last night and the dates for mondello have not changed from what we already had. Only difference is Two ISB rounds have been dropped from the south and the north has gotten 2 extra. There is still going to be 4 mondello championship rounds. 2 of them will be mixed in with ISB. I confirmed off them last night that the SS400/ mini twins class will not be running at the two clubman rounds this year as they did last year. Thats bad news for us. If we want to enter the 1st mondello race on the 11th of April we'll be put in with the pre97's. Not a good idea, we'll be swamped by the 600s. I think we could be better off waiting until May 22nd/23rd, with it being a mondello championship only round entrys shoulder be a bit lower than normal. Esp with the two extra ISB rounds up north. Lads will not be bothered coming down, spending loads and getting no points. With numbers down hopefully, we'll have a greater chance at qualifying. And do the next 3 mondello championship rounds. And would be a good way to start off. Just my thoughts. See what you's think. 3 of those mondello rounds are two day events as well. Which means: saturday you have practice, qualifilying and one race in the afternoon. Then the sunday you get a race in the morning and the afternoon! Happy days.
April 11th - Mondello Clubmans round
May 22nd/23rd – Mondello championship only*
July 4th – Mondello Championship only*
August 7th/8th – Mondello championship/ISB*
September 19th -Mondello clubmans round
October 2nd/3rd – Mondello championship/Masters/ISB*
Helmet rule will be same as last year. Needs to have date stamp on it and be 3 years old or less. Must have no marks at all on it, not even a scratch. The date stamp on Arai helmets are found under the neck strap not too sure on other makes. You'll only need this for a race meeting. The training day will be just like a track day. Should be someone down at mondello on the 20th to check the helmets and see if they'll be ok for a race. And put the MUI stamp on it. Fran Skully is the main man for this, he was there last year.
If I think of anything else i'll stick it up.
